Recipe Hall of Fame

Welcome to the Recipe Hall of Fame!

Here we have the best all-round recipes in terms of their statistics immortalised! I've measured the overall quality of dishes using my recipe ratings method, more details of which can be found here.

 1 hour: Watermelon Lemonade

It may not top the charts across any of the factors, but the Watermelon Lemonade is still the best all-round 1 hour recipe.

Available from level 71 on the Drink Machine, the lemonade weighs in at number two for profit and ranks third on portions among its fellow 1 hour dishes. The portions are well down on some of the top recipes in the duration, but overall the lemonade obtains the highest overall rating.

Honourable mentions: Portabello Mushroom (Basic Grill) and Grilled Corn (Basic Grill).

 2 hours: Disco Fries

Aboard the Basic Stove, the Disco Fries is the leading 2 hour recipe.

It rates strongly for each of the major factors, with its speciality being XP. The 78 XP is by a distance the best of any 2 hour recipe, and on a per hour basis cannot be beaten by a longer recipe. The only drawback is the availability of this dish - the fries only unlock at level 66, but most of the top 2 hour efforts unlock at around this stage anyway so it's largely irrelevant.

Honourable mentions: Black Pepper Chicken (Basic Grill), Chocolate Drizzle (Basic Stove) and NY Strip Steak (Basic Grill).

 3 hours: Biscuits and Gravy

The Biscuits and Gravy is a sensational recipe.

Found on the Basic Stove and unlocked at level 71, this dish knocks out the opposition. It has the best profit, portion and profit per plate numbers, with the latter being particularly special as just six recipes give more profit per plate across all the durations, and most of them are really long ones. Only the high level of unlock drags the overall score down, but only a touch.

Honourable mentions: Cloud Cakes (Basic Oven) and Cheese Spread (Basic Stove).

 4 hours: Smores

Found on the Basic Oven, the Smores has excellent profit power.

The 3,700 coins profit is comfortably the best of all 4 hour dishes, and can only be bettered on a per hour basis by some of the very short recipes. Cementing the Smores' winning position is a great portion number and a solid showing for XP. Once again the high level of unlock is the only drawback - the padlock comes off at level 75, the last item to be unlocked in the entire game.

 5 hours: Minestrone Soup

It may not be unlocked until level 70, but the Minestrone Soup located on the Basic Stove is the pick of the 5 hour recipes.

It ranks second for both profit and portions, with a large drop down to the next best dishes. Meanwhile the 80 XP is very respectable, charting fourth best in the duration, and leads to the soup comfortably taking the position of leading 5 hour recipe.

 6 hours: Rocket Fuel Punch

The Rocket Fuel Punch is among the newer additions to the Hall of Fame having been added on New Year's Eve 2014.

It might not rate particularly well when it comes to XP, but the punch delivers a pair of knockout blows for profit and portions where it rates second best in the duration. The level 75 unlock might look ropey, but the other standout dishes of 6 hour length also open up late so this is less of a concern.

 7 hours: Gumbo

Upon release the Gumbo was the first (and so far only) recipe in the game to achieve perfect tens across the board.

This Basic Stove recipe is actually identical to the Pork and Persimmons in that they each have the leading profit and portion numbers in the 7 hour duration, and the second best XP gain. As well as its many purples, the Gumbo is one of only four recipes to achieve purple figures in all three of the major factors, an impressive fact. Unlike so many of the other duration leaders, the Gumbo becomes accessible in the first few levels which adds to it's attraction.

 8 hours: Pumpkin Cheesecake

The 8 hour recipes are plentiful, so it is a real achievement for the Pumpkin Cheesecake from the Basic Oven to come out on top.

Only one other dish of the same length comes anywhere close to its 4,230 coins of profit, while the XP and portion stats are also extremely strong. The 126 XP ranks as fifth best in the duration with three of the foods above it being goal recipes. And regarding portions the cheesecake eases into third spot, meaning that all-round this is a superb dish.

 9 hours: Peruvian Loin Sautee

The Peruvian Loin Sautee is one of just seven 9 hour recipes in the game at the time of writing.

It is housed on the Basic Stove, and is the outstanding dish in the duration for both profit and portions. It rates pretty well for XP as well, with the late level of unlock the only issue with this food.

 10 hours: Airline Dinner

When it comes to the 10 hour offerings, the Airline Dinner flies highest.

It doesn't top the charts on any of the factors, but is a consistent performer throughout. For both profit and portions it lands second plate while the 129 XP ensures fourth spot in that particular category.

 12 hours: Farmers Market Salsa

Unlocked at level 72, the Farmers Market Salsa is a recipe well worth waiting to gain access to.

The biggest asset of this Basic Oven dish is XP - the 175 XP for each batch is a terrific return and makes it ideal for those who are looking to progress to the top of the ladder but have limited game time. The profit and portions numbers are among the best in the duration too, so the salsa is a very strong all-rounder.

 16 hours: Rack of Lamb

Among the 16 hour dishes, the Rack of Lamb is the leading all-rounder.

The key number for this Basic Oven offering is its 196 XP, which outstrips any of its rivals. But this isn't the only place where the lamb shines - it is the second best and third best in the duration for profit and portions respectively, meaning that the overall standing of the lamb is impressive.

 1 day: Stuffed Mushrooms

Available from level 60, the Stuffed Mushrooms are the standout recipe in the 1 day category.

It is with profit that the mushrooms specialise, offering 2,300 more coins of profit than the next best. The portion number is a chart topper too, and again by a large margin. It's only for XP gain that this dish doesn't outperform its rivals, but even then it still achieves a respectable 240 XP, which is among the higher yields in the duration.

  1. Hi, I was wondering if you've looked at the food from the "special treat machine" relative to the usual recipes? They seem to pay more per item than almost anything else. What's your take on them? Thanks.

  2. Yes, the Special Treat Machine recipes give 6 coins per plate. Currently they are among only 31 recipes which give more than 4 coins per plate.

My analysis of the recipes from when they were released is here: https://restaurantstoryadventures.blogspot.com/2017/06/water-park-goals-content-report.html

Bottom line is that none of them trouble the best in their respective durations, although the Nitrogen Ice Cream does place seventh in the 5 hour duration for overall rating (from 66 recipes) which is pretty impressive. :)

  3. The best recipe to make for those below level 60 would be Gumbo, it only takes 7 hours which means I don't have to play it too often and I can keep it overnight as well since I only sleep for 7 hours. The revenue per hour is one of the highest and its definetly a good way to make a lots of money and get alot of xp at the same time
